Phone Scam has become a nasty computer infection which attack many user's computer:

I went online to see something calming. Suddenly my monitor froze and there was a message that my computer was having some kind of trouble. It said, "Do not turn your computer off."  It gave a website -- www.support.microsoft.com, so I thought it must be legitimate.  However, I could not go online to this website. But there was also this phone number -- 1-844-511-8927. So I called it. A man identified himself as Austin Brown. He assured me that he was legitimate. He took control of my computer with Team Viewer. He persuaded me to take a year's service from a company call Rakashar, LLC to the tune of $249.  Of course I had to give my credit card number. Has anyone else been contacted like this?  Am I in danger?

My computer displayed an error message and a popup message saying that my computer had been infected by koobface and that I should call 1-855-400-8140 immedialely to stop further damage.  I was suspicious, but I called.  After telling me they were a computer repair services firm contracted by Microsoft to fix a security problem with Windows 10, which I had upgraded to just a couple weeks ago, they succeeded in talking me into giving them remote access to my computer.  After a lot of talking, they proposed to fix the security problem and protect my computer from future threats for a price, at which point I told them I would call them back and hung up.
